From Anywhere to Anywhere

You can virtually communicate from anywhere to anywhere using RSLinx. The product provides a user-friendly graphical interface for navigating through your network hierarchy. This includes routing over the office Ethernet network through a ControlLogix Gateway to get to your control networks and devices on the plant floor. Select a device and right mouse click to access a variety of integrated configuration and monitoring tools such as configuration for the 1756-DHRIO and 1756-ENET modules, Ladder Viewer for PLC-5, SLC, or MicroLogix family processors, or a Data Monitor for viewing data out of any ControlLogix, PLC-5, SLC-5, or MicroLogix family controllers. A complete set of communication drivers is provided for your networking needs from older legacy Allen-Bradley networks supported by remote routing through 1785-KA, 1785-KA5, 5130-KA, and 5820-EI to the newer more capable ControlLogix Gateways. RSLinx™ is a complete communication server providing plant-floor device connectivity for a wide variety of Rockwell Software applications such as RSLogix™ 5/500/5000, RSView®32™, RSView® Enterprise Series™ and RSSql™/RSBizWare™. In addition, several open interfaces are provided for third-party HMI, data collection and analysis packages, and custom client-application software. RSLinx can support multiple software applications simultaneously, communicating to a variety of devices on many different networks.

RSLinx 2.x is now joined by RSLinx Enterprise, a new product within the RSLinx family that provides unparalleled connectivity to Logix™ processors. RSLinx Enterprise currently can support working as a data server for widely distributed RSView® Supervisory Edition™ products, RSSql, RSBizWare™ Historian™, and RSBizWare™ PlantMetrics™ applications. RSView® Machine Edition™ including PanelView™ Plus and Versaview hardward platforms; and RSView Supervisory Edition Station.

What’s New in RSLinx Enterprise

• Support for RSView Supervisory Edition (SE) Stand-alone and Distributed applications has been added. The RSLinx Enterprise online help has been updated significantly to address the RSView SE support available in RSLinx Enterprise.
• Can support RSSql, RSBizWare Historian, and PlantMetrics applications.
• Support for the PanelViewPlus Compact (400/600) platforms (communicating over DH+, Ethernet, Serial DF1, DH485 via Serial and Network connections, and Single-Rack Remote I/O – including file transfer) has been added. For more information, refer to the PanelViewPlus Compact documentation.
• Support for the PanelViewPlus (700/1000/1250/1500) and VersaView CE (700/1000/1250/1500) platforms (communicating over Ethernet, Multiple-Rack Remote I/O, DF1 and DH+, DH485, and ControlNet – including file transfer) has been added. For more information, refer to the PanelViewPlus and VersaView CE documentation.
• Support for the MobileView Machine Terminal and Guard Terminal platforms (communicating over Ethernet – including file transfer) has been added.
• Support for communicating on DH+ through the DHRIO module to a ControlLogix controller has been added.
• Enhanced support for multiple Ethernet/IP applications running on the same host computer has been added, allowing you to associate an RSLinx Enterprise Ethernet driver with a specific IP address (see the Advanced tab on the Ethernet driver configuration dialog).
• Support for the 2711-RN15S ControlNet communications adapter has been added to the PanelViewPlus (700/1000/1250/1500) and VersaView CE (700/1000/1250/1500) products.
• Support for accessing a MicroLogix controller via the NetENI module has been added.
• Support for accessing a ControlLogix controller via Serial DH485 has been added. Data provided by RSLinx Enterprise can be acquired through RSSql (when the RSLinx Enterprise server is administered in RSView Studio).
